Turned off the active runway in the Cub last evening and the engine died while at idle before I could even cross the hold short line. The engine (A-65, NAS-3 carb) then would not start with the throttle on the idle stop using the left mag only. It would start with the throttle cracked but again would not idle at its customary 700 RPM, or at any RPM less than about 1,000.
Where should I start troubleshooting?
My first thought: a plugged up idle fuel circuit? How might this be cleaned out?
We completed the annual inspection before this flight.
This carb was overhauled by Aircraft Fuel Specialists in 1998 and has been perfect since, requiring no adjustment.
Thanks!
