Hi guys, just bought a '45 J3 with C85 to build time and I've run into an issue where the plane has always idled high but not unreasonably so but with the hotter weather it's even higher now. Idle was at 900rpm a few weeks ago but yesterday when it was really hot it wouldn't come down off of 1100 RPM even up to 1200rpm with the carb heat off and mixture in. I've been cheating it down with carb heat and pulling the mixture and even switching to one mag after hand starting so it won't roll away on me. I found a Stromberg carb tip sheet online and the author seemed to think high idle was a "feature" of the carb but it's pretty obnoxious if so.

Aside from the regular things like leaking primer, leaking intake gaskets, leaking runner tubes/clamps is there anything that I can do/adjust to get the idle down? What is a normal idle RPM for a C-85?
