I searched the forum to see if anyone else had this problem but couldn't find a definitive answer.

I installed a Sigtronics Transcom II SPO22 to interface with my Icom A-24. I plugged in the intercom into the pigtail adapter that goes to the handheld. I plugged in the PTT switch into the XMIT middle plug. The intercom works great if that is all you use it for. When I try to transmit, I get a high pitched hum. I eliminated the possibility of a bad PTT switch. I tried different configurations with the same results. Finally I resorted to bypassing the intercom PTT feature and plugged the PTT switch directly into the Icom adapter and that worked. This means leaving the intercom transmit male plug wire disconnected.

The Sigtronics online installation instructions does not include handhelds or I just totally missed it on their site.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem or am I just a DA and this is the way your are supposed to hook up a handheld?
