I've got my old stainless steel muffler and headers, and new shrouds. The engine is mounted. I got the old muffler shrouds off and have removed the muffler and the headers, and all laying out on the work bench. I've dinked (A scientific term from the space business), around with the new shrouds and the muffler, and there is no way that I can see to get the whole assembled works back into the airplane without pulling the engine at the firewall forward about 3 or 4 inches. I've tried every imaginable (at least that I can imagine) combination of putting the pieces in without pulling the engine. Ain't gonna happen with my current level of knowledge of cub workings. In fact, I'd be done by now if I'd started right off by pulling the engine. So, now, before I go crazy in the morning and pull the engine to slide the whole assembled muffler system up the firewall, does anyone have any process that they've used to handle the job short of pulling the engine forward temporarily?

The real hang up is of course being able to get the down pipe clamp on at the muffler, and then the various shroud pieces on as well.

Out of answers.
