I have a Vagabond that I'm restoring (I hope the fact that it's not a J-3 doesn't disqualify me from benefiting from your vast knowledge :)). The fuselage was primed a number of years ago but there is now some very light surface rust showing through in a few places. Does that mean that sanding and re-priming would not be recommended? What are some other options? I talked to a local powdercoater who (almost) convinced me that powdercoating over a zinc rich primer was the best option. However, I know some people don't like powdercoating. If I paint, I would like to stay away from epoxies and other more toxic coatings. I want to do a good job, but I also don't want to spend a huge amount of money on an airplane that is going to have a modest resale regardless of what I spend on it. Any opinions? Thanks.

Tom
