I am doing the annual on my cub it's a 38 J-3 with an a65. The windscreen was starting to get misted by oil so the crank seal was due as per my A&P and prop needed an overhaul too. Which, since it's an old falcon prop, means it's taking forever to get refinished.

Anyway I am doing owner assisted and the seal in this thing was mainly metal and a slighty different design then the replacement. It has a U shape to it if that makes sense. I wanted to know if anyone knows how old this thing might be? It was a bear to get out and my A&P said he had never seen one like it before.
