Cubbers,

I'm driving up from south AL (I'm on a work trip) to west NC this weekend to look at, and presumably buy a "0" time SMOH Don Swords C-85 stroker that's been properly preserved since it left the shop in 2005.

The seller is asking a fair(premium) price for a 0-time engine, but I have some concerns about how long it's been preserved and to what quality. To that end, I don't exactly what I should be checking, as it's on a stand and not mounted on an aircraft.

Furthermore, I'm sure since I'm not the original consumer, Don Sword's probably wouldn't accept responsibility if the engine blew up after I installed it, so I'm a little cautious.

I have no reason to suspect the seller's claims, I'd just like to see if there's any knowleageble folks near the area (Waynesville, NC) I could hire to confirm the condition before I write a check and pay ALOT of money to ship it all the way back across the country to WA.

Thanks in advance for your expertise,

Mike-
