I never paid much attention - I got a tank from Clarence Witte, installed it, and mailed in the 337.

I am looking at a Cub that says it has 18 gals in each wing, and cites the Air Energy STC. No field approval. I am beginning to think I have a real problem in front of me. This aircraft has flown for 15 years with this setup.

Any hints? Did Clarence actually build 18 gal tanks for the J-3?
