That damn glass gascolator

OK so we did the annual on our C85 powered J3 and now the glass gascolator leaks like crazy and I want to replace it
what should I be looking for? I know there is a Steves one for about 250 and I know Aircraft Spruce has a homebuilders one for about 70 bucks can I use that?
Any idea as to why the glass one would just start leaking? I did replace the rubber washers with cork and that didn't help.
If I cant use that one what does everyone else use?
