My Univair fuselage on my '46 cub has a hole drilled in the cross plate to accept a five sixteenths bolt to hold the forward end of the tailwheel spring. The hole in the tail wheel three spring sandwich itself is a quarter inch. The tail wheel itself uses a five sixteenths bolt to hold it to the two springs at the at the tail wheel end of the spring sandwich and the springs at that end are drilled for five sixteenths.

It looks like two solutions: A. Drill the three spring sandwich out to five sixteenths.
B. Use a quarter inch bolt on the spring sandwich, but put a radial spacer around the hole in the fuselage
and use a quarter inch bolt to hold that fuselage end of the spring sandwich in place.
So, does anyone have any thoughts? What should the bolt and hole size be on both ends of the spring sandwich??
