My IA says I need to adjust my tailbrace wires because they have too much slack. I checked them as per Clyde Smith's way and they ranged from 8 to 10 lbs. I can't find in Cub Clues the proper way to adjust them. The articles just say to adjust them in the range of 12-15 lbs. with a 1/2 inch deflection. My question is do you have to have the same number of threads showing on both sides? Will this change the vertical stab.? Do you do this with the trim set to neutral? Does the tail need to be level on a sawhorse like you were doing a new rigging job? My IA knows very little about fabric planes. Any suggestions?
