Has anyone on this forum built a J-3 style shock strut from scratch?

I am building a set for an experimental project and would love any tips on any changes that might be good or what to do or not to do.

I only have the Wag drawing, not any Piper drawings (except the Super Cub ones) and are following that so far.

Thanks,
Andrew.
