In Remembrance 2023
FYI. My truck died and I am waiting for a factory built. While I am waiting, I have to use my wife's car. One day she asks me if I have any Plexiglas for a craft project. Next time I go to the hangar I grab a scrap piece of 1/16" Lexan for her. Turns out it was too small, so I stuck it in her trunk. Next time I go fly I have a couple of 2.5 gallon cans of gas in the trunk. They leaked. Gas goes all over the rug and bottom fabric- and the piece of Lexan which is laying under a towel. Next day, my wife comes screaming at me for what I did to her car. The gas liquified the Lexan, which turned to jelly and penetrated the towel, and the trunk rug, and superglued everything together. It partially solidified into a glob of clear tar, and everything is locked together forever at this point.
So, Lexan not only will craze and get cloudy when contacted by gas, it melts.
