Does anyone use an ICOM IC-A24 transceiver in their Cubs? The pilots in other Cubs that I fly with complain once I get 5 to 7 miles away they can no longer hear my transmissions. Is this typical?

I was considering trying a different antenna setup or if I have to change to some other transceiver with more output power. I do not have electrical system, but do have Lithium 9 A/hr battery for all my devices. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Dave
