Grove Brakes?

I've run completely out of spare parts for the original expander tube brakes on the L-4. It's only a matter of time until the switch to Grove disc brakes will have to be made. The question is only whether to do it sooner, or later.

Has anyone here made this switch? How did the job go? Any "gotchas"? What was the difference in weight between the two sets of brake componants?
