I've run into a plane that has work documented in a logbook pretty generically and then says detailed documentation of work is on file under work order # xxxxx.
It is signed by an A&P, but not with a 145 repair station #.

I know 145s are allowed to do this, but is an acceptable practice for an individual A&P to sign off something this way? The owner was not given a copy of the work order.

I'm having trouble finding anything that would prevent it.

Joe
