Hi everyone!
I have inherited a J3 cub with the 65 hp engine. My husband and I were in the process of looking for a float plane when we got this news so now I am curious... I saw a cub on amphibs at Oshkosh and it got me wondering. Does anyone have information on how to take a J3 cub and convert it to amphibs? Are they out there? Do I need to change the engine? I live on an airpark in Northern California. Our strip is at 3,000 ft agl 3,500 ft long and we have a lot of 1,000' MSL lakes within 20 minutes flight. I would love to find a way to make this happen but am not sure what is really possible? Any comments/advise is welcome!
Thanks,
Melissa
