In doing research on l-4's I'm amazed how many have disappeared since the 50's. Which have just had their registration expire, revoked, put on hold or cancelled due to being destroyed. I've seen quite a few which were registered under civil air patrol which just fell out of registration never to be re-registered under the same serial number.
I'm curious how many l-4's are out there that have had the wings pulled off and stuffed in a hangar corner or barn somewhere. There are about 350 war time production l-4's registered in the US covering o-59's to J models. I'm curious how many more are hidden away unregistered somewhere.
