I just loosened my wood prop bolt/nuts to check torque. She sits on my Stearman but I would think the same goes as for the Cub.
I did this on ultralites and it worked and this is the published recommended procedure.
This refers to if there is vibration, check the tracking. If it is no more than 1/16 inch it is OK. If it is off it should be adjusted by continuing to torque the off side more than the 300 inch pounds to pull that blade tip in.
This worked on the UL, never needed to do the cub.

This blade tip is at least 2/16 inch off, can't say it has vibration or not, I never detected it so.

So my dilemma is this, the books states do not crush the wood by torqueing more than 300 inch Lbs. so how can you continue to torque the off side without crushing the wood? I thought about loosening the other side and tightening the other side equally.
Or just torque her down as directed and ignore the tracking?

Thanks,

Glenn
