Windshield attachment

Hi all and a Merry Christmas to you!

I have a question about the windshield attachment. The two diagonal flat "u-channels", were the windshield ends, have a row of screws in the centerline. On the left side, this is were the windshield and the front left side window meet. Do the windshield and left side window overlap, or do they meet end to end at the screw line (with a gap wide enough for the screws)?
