One of my older friends recently gave me three propeller hubs, among other parts for my J2 project with the A-40. Now that I have had time to look at the hubs, they are different from the A-40 hubs I have. I was wondering if anyone might know what engine they were used on.

I have attaced three pictures, 1) is an A-65 hub with out the snap ring or nut, 2) is the one of the hubs I was given, and three is the original A-40 hub from my J2.

The propeller hub I'm trying to identify has a bolt pattern which is the same as the A-40 hub but the outside is threaded at the front and the front recess is slightly different.

One of my antique buddies (airplanes not age) thought it was from a very early A-65 and the threaded part was where a hub puller was attached to make removing the hub easier as there is no snap ring etc.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. If there was a puller that threaded on the end of the hub it might be an excellent upgrade for the A-40 even if I had to make such a tool.

Much obliged for any info
Bill
