I was flying the J-3 this evening and I reached to crank the nose down for level flight several times before I realized the crank was loose and rotating on the shaft. I landed and the crank has a square socket that fit on the round shaft. There was a set screw that I tightened against the round shaft and it held but obviously not a permanent fix. Looks like any old automobile window crank was fair game in the day. What is the stock set up?
