I have been trying to get my trim system to work properly. I have had the cable replaced, cable tightened, pulley replaced, lubrication removed from a pulley, etc., all resulting in a very temporary repair and now to no repair at all. The stabilizer crank moves smoothly (moves to a nose up or nose down position) on the ground with no load on the stabilizer, but in flight turning the crank will not move the crank nor the stabilizer. If I have someone hold down the leading edge of the stabilizer while I turn the crank, I can reproduce the inflight response. Right now I set the stabilizer via the crank (on the ground) for pattern use or for cruise flight and fight the nose up or nose down tendencies as they appear. My AI is very good but we cannot seem to fix the problem. Any thoughts will be much appreciated.
