I'm still having a terrible time with my Maule tailwheel shimmying on landing. I've re-bent the main spring more so that the pivot plane tilts aft. I've put on new spring kit, new tire and tube, and a new horn. I had the mechanic go through the tailwheel during the annual and he says that is doesn't appear worn. The shimmying starts up as the airplane slows and the down force on the tailwheel increases. I can get it to lessen or stop (sometimes) by releasing the back pressure on the elevator. I've tried everything I can think of and would appreciate any ideas. What do you guys think of the Lang tailwheels? Has anybody ever had one shimmy?
