Hi All,
During climb out this morning, my tachometer suddenly started to act up with the needle jumping up and down repeatedly. The actual engine RPM was clearly not affected, so this was purely an indicating issue. I suspect the tach. cable, but is there any good way to tell if it's the cable of the tachometer itself? Is the failure mode of the cable that it suddenly breaks internally somewhere along its length? If so, that should be pretty obvious when I remove the two ends for inspection, right?
Thanks,
John
