We were stripping the inside of the cowling this morning and found a lot more Olive Drab Paint. This OD inside the scoop right above the airbox was applied over the yellow green zinc chromate. In the photos you can see a comparison to my Army ANA No. 613 color card and also the dark green/gray fabric sample Jim Gray sent to me. The paint on the cowling does not match either but comes closer to a faded version of ANA 613. They could have actually painted it with vehicle paint from the motor pool. It is interesting to note that the original factory tubular rivets are still in place indicating that this scoop was not removed when the cowling below it was repaired. The rivets used in the repair were standard solid aluminum rivets.

We have now found at least three different Olive Drabs on this cowling......We have reason to believe that this latest shade is 1943 Dodge Weapons Carrier Olive Drab. :)
