A lot has been written about how the correct Olive Drab should look like.
In Europe a lot of restored L4´s show a much darker drab then what I see on original part pictures posted on this site. (it might be that colors on pictures do not represent reality)
I attached a picture of a plane I found on the net to show an example. I do not mean to say by this that this aircraft is not in the correct color. I just want to use it as a reference and think that the OD that we saw on the original parts is a bit lighter then on several other planes. Can somebody explain why so many European L´4s have darker paint (some have not even OD but Khaki)?
Or is this a variation in color that was often used in WW2?
As I am on the way of making my OD after the recipe off Paul Smith, I want to get it as close as possible to the original. I would appreciate some comments.
Note; I consider a color that was used during the restoration of some of my L4 parts as not correct. To clarify if I have to redo those, I started this topic.
