I've looked at two different pix of locations of the brake master cylinders under the seat on the J3. Magnus album shows he's mounted them quite a way out board. My AI's ancient cub has them way inboard with just the part of the lever intended for the foot peaking out under the seat. In Magnus' mounting, he's used one of the bolts for the rudder pedal for one of the bolts on the outboard foot of the cylinder. Magnus' mounting would have the rod going to the front brake pedal going out boad of the vertical part of the rear rudder pedal. My AI's rod to the front brake pedal goes in board of the verticle part of the rudder pedal.

Which way is right? Or is there a right way on these dear old airplanes.

I like the solid way of mounting in the Magnus instance, but it also looks like there will be a lot of interference to the feet of the rear pilot on the rear rudder pedals.

Mysteries mysteries
