I am in the market for an L-4 and found one that is close to my price range but am a little confused about it. The owner says the 85hp was converted with O200 parts to produce 96hp through an STC. He says the weight did not change and he still flys it from the rear seat. I am under the impression that a J3/L4 with over 90hp has to have metal spar wings. Is there flight limitations if the horse power exceeds the limits of the 90hp rule? I appreciate any help on this.
