L-4 seat cushions, black or OD

There's been some debate over the years surrounding the color of L-4 interior seat cushions, black vs OD. Here is a pair of original Piper L-4 front seat back cushions with the first-aid kit pouch and the original A.A.F Acceptance shipping tags still attached, one dated Sep 22, 1943 and the other dated Oct 25, 1943. Both are black, obviously. This would suggest a good probability that L-4's left the Piper factory with black cushions, unless someone has a documented original OD cushion which I've never come across. What happened after they left Piper or out in the field is anyone's guess.
