According to the ceconite manual, I need 10 gallons of clear, 10 gallons of silver and 10 gallons of finish colour. (Plus 30 gallons of thinners)
Are these figures about right? As the manual says 4 coats of silver but only 3 coats of clear and colour, it seems odd that you need the same amounts.
I read that it’s advisable to have a coat of white before the yellow, so does this mean one coat of white followed by 2 of yellow, or do I still need the three coats of yellow? Or do I substitute the white for one of the silver coats? The aircraft will live in a hangar and fly in England, so its not as though it’s going to live outside in the Arizona sunshine, in which they say 4 coats of silver will give a 25 year life.

I’m not doing the painting, but need to buy the paint and it’s not easy to get any quickly as the local distributor doesn’t keep much stock and it has to come from the US by boat.

thanks!
