Hello Cub Caregivers,

Allow me to introduce myself, Allen McInnish here. I am glad to be part of a group who maintain, preserve and modify these historical aviation icons. When I think "airplane", the Cub comes to my mind first and foremost. Born in 1954, I was raised by my Mother and Father in the Navy life. My father, a Naval Aviation Chief Petty Officer, taught me the value of a dollar and instilled in me a sound mechanical background. He capitalized on my mecahnical ability, which led to my own Naval Aviation career spanning 23+ years of Honorable Service. Naval Aviation and Naval Aviation Maintenance was good to me and I too earned my status as a Chief Petty Officer. Having since retired in 1997, my children have grown up and successfully launched their own careers. One son is in the mortgage business and the other is a deployed active duty Naval Aviation Patrol Squadron member. I am proud of them to the utmost.
My years of experience have come as a collage of Piston and Jet engine overhaul and test, aircraft restoration and salvage. Since 1999 the F/A-18 Super Hornet, F22 Raptor and the up & coming Joint Strike Fighter F-35 have been my focus. From 1997 through 2000, I was working with Raetheon Aerospace Field teams as an artisan Mechanic and Overhaul specialist on the F-14 Tomcat, P-3 Orion and F/A-18 Hornet.
Since 1998, when I earned my Airframe & Power plant license, my General Aviation experience has been with a variety of production Cessna, Piper and Beechcraft single and twin engined aircraft. I wish to continue growing my knowledge and experience with these most useful machines. In short, "I'm ate up with it!" I am currently seeking a Cub project in a reasonable price range to refurbish with mild modernization.
So much for the intro, how about you fine folks? Who Loves Cubs! "I DO!" Let's trade some knowledge and fun with this marvelous bird as our opening conversation piece. I welcome communication via email: [email protected] and continuing conversations on this forum and others.
Looking forward to a great time,

Allen E. McInnish Jr. USN (Ret)
