Hey Guys,

I just talked to Dave Henderson. He has a flanged shaft 85-8 engine that another A&P overhauled. He wants $6k. He also has what he described as "Perfect Paperwork" for a '46 and the latter half of the fuselage for $3k.

Help the guy out and talk it up for him.

I know a possible candidate for an 85. When was it overhauled, and how much time does it have on it?

I didn't know where to post this but: Dave Henderson is in bad shape. I heard several people at Lock Haven ask how he was doing. I corespond with him checking on how he is doing. I have a list in my address book of "Friends of Dave Henderson". Dave has agreed that I can forward our e-mails to people on that list. If you want to be included on that list please send me you name and e-mail address and I will include you. My e-mail address is [email protected].

This is our latest communication. I think that anyone that went to the early Sentimental Journeys knows that Dave was heavily involved in them.

Len, I will keep tonight short but things here are really the same the
bottom line is every day when I wake up will be the best day I am going to
have. I have changed from John's Hopkins to Drexel Medical Center in PA.
John's Hopkins was to much glum and doom and they were hung up on the Motor
Neuron Disease which I don't argue with but they would not deal with the
pain which is so bad my Dr has me on 240MG a day of Oxycontin. That is 45 of
vicoden or Percocet. Each day. With Hopkins one day it is Lou Gehrig's (ALS)
the next day it is PLS. They just keep saying I should be dead by now like
they are vultures waiting for me to kick off so they can study what extreme
Agent Orange exposure does to your motor neuron system and nerves. Like I
told you before after over 10 operations looking at my nerves they still see
the same thing they are all eaten up and now the main nerve in my right leg
has began to disintegrate, and to say it hurts is one hell of an
understatement. They ask me on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is the pain and I
tell them 100 they get pissed. Since last time we talked they had to operate
on my stomach and move it. I had aspiration pneumonia 10 times in a year and
it was either do a Nissan Fondulation which means they took my stomach and
lifted it up and wrapped it around my esopugus so it looks like a hot dog
and bun. They already cut the major muscle in my left butt cheek called the
periformus in the hopes of taking pressure off the sciatic nerve and all it
did was cripple me even more than I am already. So other than that I am
great and oh yea my sister died because of a damm doctors mistake which
gives me even more confidence.
So that's the short version, I got Social Security disability in 2 weeks so
I think that beats any records for the shortest time not even a physical.
They looked at my medical records sighed and signed off on it and the VA
upped my disability to 90% now. I declined 100% as at 100% if you breath
they want to take it away under the new wonderful Osama administration. He
has put it to the VA that they will reduce the rolls by around 20% within
the next 2 years. That means another 100K vets will get screwed. I was
running a small gun shop out of the house but now he wants to ban all the
guns. So no matter what I do someone wants to ban it. So now I am dealing in
antique parachutes and when this gets to bad I will try one out.
Take care my friend I do miss you all so much, and I miss either being alive
or being dead I am just stuck in the middle right now.
Dave

Subject: How are you doing?

Dave:

I just got back from SJ 2011 last Wednesday evening.

Attendance was down. Many were kept home by the weather and the fuel
prices may have also been a factor.

I put 64.91 hours on my tachometer with a fuel cost of $ 1791.42.

Several attendees asked about you and how you are.

Please respond to this when you get a chance and I will forward your
response to you your many friends that are concerned about you.

I might be interested in the 85-8. Any details on times, accessories, etc. I have a -12 I'm about to hang but would prefer a -8.
