Does anyone know if the original drag wires threads in the wings were cut or rolled? I found a project in which some of the turnbuckles and jam nuts were tight while others were a tiny amount loose before tightening but appeared just fine. I suspect a few cut threads. I'd replace if I had to. Just curious if more experienced mechanics might know. On the internet, I read that rolled threads had 20 to 40 percent longer fatigue life. Don't know how that relates to a Cub, however. I'd appreciate a comment from an expert.
