What is "normal" fuel consumption for a C-90?
My C-90 Clip-Wing is burning 6+ gallons per hour at 2300 rpm...nearly 7 gph at 2400 rpm. This is at 2500 feet msl, turning a 46" pitch (I think...might be 44") metal prop. Indicating 87 mph.
I just flew a 2.6 hour cross country, held a steady 2300 rpm all the way and burned 15.9 gallons. Carb was just overhauled by the Stromberg Specialist but this is the same fuel burn as before the carb overhaul.
I have studied the charts from the Continental Overhaul Manual and it still seems excessive.
Any thoughts?
