I've checked a few cubs, and gotten good input, so I'll stick with locating the brake master cylinder more inboard like my AI's cub. I also don't know how you'd stomp around on the rear rudder pedals with the cylinders outboard as in the Magnus pix. My AI's cub is a '39, with the inboard arrangement, and mine is a 46 and my old floorboard mounting holes show that the cylinders were mounted inboard, so that's the way I'll go.
Now, on to anther issue. I bought one pair of standard bungee cords, and a second pair of HD cords. I'd read on this site that one heavy and one standard on each strut was the way to go. However, in the process of installing the standard, and considering how tight that sucker is, I'm having second thoughts about the value of the one standard and one HD method. Before I finish installing, I'd like to hear any new thoughts on the bungee issue. I'm using the modified ratchet car jack method. It works, but it is terrifying to do.
Happy restoring
