my cork fuel float sank. just too old and too many coats of shelac. i found a j3 cap with a brass float on it in my fathers old aviation stash. problem is, it was dented and would not float in fuel either.
i unsoldered it, took out all the dents and resoldered it back together. works fine now.
my question is, has anyone out ever heard of or seen a brass float set up for the j3 before?
