OK guys,
My Port brake hose sprung a leak so I ordered the U71061-004 from Univair and all seemed right with the world. That was until I came to fit it.
As you can see from photo 1, the old hose and new hose don't have the same fittings! See original end fitting in photo 2.
My L-4B was refurbished as an L-4H by the USAF in the late 40s and has the H brake system. On top of this it was totally rebuilt in 1990/92, so I am guessing that nothing is standard and the union fitting may have been changed at that point also. See photo 3.
What do I do now?
Can I order an off the shelf hose with fittings to match the original?
FYI, this is marked up on the large barrels and end fittings as "MS 24590-4" and "IFC 0007-2".
Or should I get unions to bridge the gaps.
Advice an options welcomed.
Joe
