This probably has appeared someplace on the forum, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

I'm having my cowl painted in the near future.

Cowl pins mar the paint on Cubs, obviously. I've seen a few different treatments to prevent or minimize this. I've used 1/8" nylon washers between the cowl and the pins - where they fit. And therein lies the rub, so to speak.

The fit of my cowl is generally so tight that I can't fit these washers between the pin and the cowl.

I've seen black disc backers (approximately 2" in diameter) in photos. But I have no idea what they are, or where they can be found.

Can anyone advise me on a thin alternative to my 1/8" thick nylon washers (aside from the obvious - 1/16" thick nylon washers :D).
