Thursday afternoon I witnessed a totally awesome sight when a Ford Trimotor flew directly over my humble little grass strip. Got a phone call from a friend who gave me a heads up that he was "headed my way" so I waited and waited and waited patiently till she cleared the mountains and there she was about 2000 agl cruising around 70mph, about the same as my cub. Then in a few seconds he was gone on his way to Dallas TX to the lucky buyer of this great plane. He stopped for fuel at our local airport 4A6 and they had no idea he was coming as he had no radio until he was on the downwind. Would have loved to been at the airport when he landed. Hope the attached link below works as it has a bit of history of this plane.
