Approved data

Give me a hand here - I know that 43.13, STCs, and Type Data Sheets are approved data, and just found out that an extremely limited set of 337s (in addition to those before some date in the 1950's) are also approved data.

I am now looking for the FAA rule or handbook that actually allows all the above. Anybody know what that is?
