I've a question for a friend who has found an L4 that has a data plate from a 1946 J3-C. He got the build sheet from Clyde based on the AF S/N and it was a 1944 L4. Is it possible to replace the Data Plate with the 1944 plate or should he just enjoy it as it is? I know that in the old days the FAA would allow you to build a cub around the data plate with parts from multiple aircraft. Any help I can pass on would help a future cub owner.
Thanks
