Guys,

Forgive me if this has already been posted; I attended an FAA seminar on the 2020 ADSB requirements as they apply to antique/vintage aircraft.

The presenter made it clear that portable ADSB units will not meet the requirement because they can be moved between aircraft and won't retain the specific identifying information. ADSB has to be hard wired into an aircraft, yet if we fly (Cubs) with no electrical system, there no way to accommodate what they're requiring.

Am I missing something, or are my choices to install an electrical system to facilitate an ADSB, or just stop flying my J-3 if I happen to be based inside or near a mode C veil?

Mike-
