As a few of you know, I am actively looking to purchase my first Cub. Some of the "For Sale" possibilities have wood spars and some have metal. My questions is, with all other things being equal and considering longevity, would you purchase a Cub with wood spars or Metal? Why?

As background, I have searched through this Cub forum and read through all of the threads that are associated with wood and metal spars. It's 2017 and these spars have had a variety of stresses in the past 70+ years, plus the environmental damage of heat, moisture, and sunshine over that period of time. And some of the Cubs that I am looking at have not been recovered for 20+ years. What's hiding under that fabric? What concerns should I have, What pre-purchase steps should I take?
