Tomorrow, the DAR is supposed to come take a look. It's been 4 years of work, searching for parts and research, (and about $60k) to get her ready, but she's ready. The FAA didn't believe that we had a real L4 first. Then when we showed them it really was an L-4, they said it wasn't an original L-4. So we showed them it was an original L-4. Then they said it wasn't the L-4 that was on the registration. We had to go to Piper to get the original build sheet to show them it was the correct L-4. Then they said the number was wrong because our airplane was a J model that was destroyed in 1953 in Michigan. So we showed them that the airplane that was destroyed in Michigan was a bogus registration using our serial number. And that on the date in question, our L-4 was towing gliders at Altenrhine, Switzerland. Then they said it couldn't be an L-4 because the registration and data plate says it's a J3C-65D. So we had to show them that there are over 1000 L-4s made when no civilian manufacturing took place that are registered and flying as J3C-65s. This has been going on almost a year.

I sure hope it's worth it.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Paul
