I am still assessing the state of my wings prior to repair and recover and am undecided with what to do about the spars. The covering was on for 41 years and there is some pitting corrosion on all four wing spars. The left front spar was installed new on the last recover while the right one and both rears had been there a while longer.

I have searched the web, read through the AC 43-13 and other documentation related to corrosion and I cannot find anything definitive with regard to service limits or serviceability.

Do I clean them up and coat with epoxy primer or replace. I fly on floats and would like to continue flying the aircraft for another 20 years.

What are your thoughts on this?

The first picture is the left spar and the second is the right. The inboard sections in the pictures are the worst areas for corrosion.
