Why do so many folks on web lists such as this hide behind anonymity? My signature line is turned on and it lists my name on every post. John Tremper (aka Citabrickr), Bob Turner, Dan Johnson, David Johnson, John Scott (aka longwinglover) Paul Smith, Chuch Shaw and I list our first and last name on every post via either userID or signature. Many of us also list our city and state. There are some others who are open also, I've just listed those who immediately come to mine. We are all pretty outspoken, but don't try to hide either. Of course, we all know Will Ware is our intrepid leader/webmaster.

Why then, do so many folks insist on hiding behind a screen name? Many of them are also extremely vocal, but from the shadows. It's easy being an "expert" from the dark corners.

Personally, if you aren' willing to share your ID, you probably ought not be giving "expert" advice.

Just my two cents.
