What level of oil do you try to keep in your engine?

Good morning everyone. I understand we all have 4 or 5 qt oil bladders (kidney). I have the 4 qt on my 85 as well as when I had the 65 HP.
To me, 4 qts seem fine, but only 3 qts seems a little low. At what level do most of you try and keep your levels?
Also, is there any reason not to have a 5 qt oil bladder on a Continental engine?
We had some great flying last weekend and this weekend looks fine too!
