My Cub just flunked its annual for first time since I've owned it (13 years). I do agree with IA, the upper door hinges are pretty bad and a top door coming off in flight would not be good. I've been keeping an eye on them since buying the cub. The front on the door hinge will be easy to replace and the rear one is fine, it's the fuselage hinge tubes that have me worried. The forward tubes of both hinges are paper thin. The rear tubes of both hinges are fine. I'm hoping we can come to agreement without replacing fuselage hinge tubes as I don't see any safe way to weld in new ones without burning up airplane. Would probably have to remove wing to do it right. Anybody been through this and have any good ways to fix this problem? Thanks.
