Guys,

This morning I was talking with Avemco to transfer over the insurance from my C-140 to the L-4. I never new this with regard to Cubs but they do consider total airframe time when computing maximum insurance value. For example the maximum value on my L-4 (newly restored) that they would write is $43,000 with 4,000 hrs TT airframe. Mine has less than 2,000 hrs so the value climbed to the $49,000 I needed.

They do not have a different value for the L-4 vs the J-3. To them the L-4 is not worth anymore than a standard Cub.
